Edward Nichols Jr., 73, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on December 20, 2023, at Merit Health Hospital in Biloxi. He was born on January 19, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ed was a dedicated boat captain for 35 years, mastering the waters as a River, Tugboat, and Liftboat Captain. His love for boats extended beyond his profession and into his hobbies, where he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Lora Nichols; children, Jessica, Jessie, Brian, and Tina; grandchildren, Eric, Morgan, Shooter, Anna, Jacob, Stephanie, Latenia, Conner, Alissa, Rebekah, Samantha, and Carter; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Parker, Sterling, Emmett, Xena The Woofer Princess, and Vali The Avenger. He is also survived by his sister Lauren Bower.

Ed was preceded in death by his grandson, Codie Beasley; sister, Karen Sue Nichols; and his parents, Dorothy and Edward Nichols Sr., Emmett, and Verna Parrette.

A memorial service will be held on January 6, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ramsey Hill Baptist Church, 13300 Joe Batt Rd. Vancleave, MS. The service will be officiated by Dale Greenwell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ramsey Hill Baptist Church.

Ed will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
