Earle Thompson

d. May 30, 2008

Earle F. Thompson, husband, father and resident of Pass Christian, MS expired on May 2008, in Gulfport, MS.
A native of Kentucky and a resident of Pass Christian for the past 11 years, he is survived by his wife, Virginia Ramos Thompson; his daughter Corta K. Thompson; his twin sons Grant and Taylor Thompson; and Ramos Family in California, and Brenda, David and Charles Reymond of Pass Christian, long time friends.
Earle was a decorated paratrooper of the 82nd. Airborne with 48 jumps, who served in World War II. Earle spent his life in the hotel and tourist business. Earle enjoyed a more colorful life than the average person.
Ginny and Earle met in San Francisco, CA while she was working at the Sheraton-FishermanaÌ‚â‚â„¢s Wharf Hotel as assistant Personnel Director (1977) when Earle was transferred to the San Francisco property from Bal Harbour Sheraton in Miami. Bother traveled extensively and lived in numerous cities and states during EarleaÌ‚â‚â„¢s career in resort and hotel management. However, it was the Mississippi Gulf Coast that held a very strong influence on their lives and where they settled to rear their family. In order to keep busy upon retirement, Earle and Ginny owned and operated the Spur Station and Car Wash on Hwy 90 in Waveland, MS. The business was not reopened after hurricane Katrina due to EarleaÌ‚â‚â„¢s failing health.
The Thompson family would like to thank Drs. Stephen Baker and Chelsea Grow; the nurses and staff of Gulfport Memorial Hospital and Canon Hospice for the care they showed Earle during his illness.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 2pm at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, where friends may visit from 1pm until 2pm. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERA HOME, Gulfport is in charge of the arrangments.
