Earl McArthur, Sr.

Earl “Papa Pete” McArthur passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on December 9, 2022, at 92 years old.

Papa was preceded by his parents; his siblings, Buddy, Herman, Ronnie "Poochie" McArthur, and Helen Ringer; and his wife, Linda McArthur.

In addition to his sister, Betty Parrish, Pete leaves behind 5 children, Jimmy McArthur, Therese Klipfel (Mike), Angie Shaffer, Allison Wills, and Jason McArthur (Aimee); 2 stepchildren, Melissa Bales (James), and Michelle Blanchard; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

A veteran of the Korean War, Pete served his country with honor. He also served as a law enforcement officer and a carpenter and was building and fixing things until the end. In his retirement years, you could always find him in his favorite recliner watching old Westerns, sitting on the patio enjoying company, or “high rolling” on the penny slots at the casino.

Papa Pete loved everyone he met and was always surrounded by people who loved and admired him. He will be greatly missed by all.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, followed by an interment at Live Oak Cemetery, Pass Christian.
