E.J. """"Chunky"""" Spiers, Jr. age 56, of Lizana, died on Friday, June 20, 2008.
Mr. Spiers was a long time resident of Lizana and Necaise Crossing. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Presidential Honor Guard. He was medically retired, and a very generous man and had many friends in the Lizana Community.
Mr. Spiers was preceded in death by his father, E.J. Spiers; his brother Joe Spiers; his nephew, Doug Spiers West and his step-father, Thomas W. Bennett.
Survivors include his loving companion, Dale Janet Ladner; his mother Hilda Spiers Bennett; his daughter, Brande Albritton (Jimmy, Jr.); his sisters, Rita Ladner (Wayne), and Marilyn Stone (Wayne); brothers, Bennie Spiers (Debra), Michael Spiers, and Gregory Spiers (Bridget); three grandchildren, Morgan, Holten and Nolan; seven nieces, Carlie Webb (Chad), Jolie Machado (David), Andrea McCarthy (Martin), Amber Spiers, Joanna Stone, Robin Stone and Tiffany Spiers, and two nephews, Jason Ladner (Stephanie) and Gregory Lee Spiers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.
