Mrs. E. Virginia Simmons, age 68, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Bexley, MS to Marvin """"Ted"""" Eubanks and Mamie E. Guagliardo. She married at the age of 15 and started her family. Gardening was a passion for her, and she spent many hours growing plants and selling them at the farmer's market. She was a charter member of Pass Road Baptist Church and current member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Her family was most important to her, as she showered her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Melvin G. and Kevin P. Simmons; brother, Stanley Biser.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, K. Ray Simmons of Gulfport; children, Kenneth R. Simmons, Jr. (Sherry) of Gulfport, Curtis W. Simmons (Tina) of Gulfport, Stephen G. Simmons (Vicki) of McHenry, Trevor H. Simmons of Gulfport; siblings, Janet Wallis of WV and Marshall Biser of WA; grandchildren, Kelly Ferrell (John Tate), Curtis Simmons, Jr. (Diane), Katherine Simmons, Stephanie Hoggatt (Matt), Patricia Bester (Fred), Justin Simmons, Jeremy Simmons, K. Ray Simmons, III, Shawn Simmons, Nikki Robinson; 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 12:30-2 pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
