Dwight Rae Tellier, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Gulfport on Friday, November 15, 2019.
He was a native of Danville, IL, and retired from the U.S. Air Force as an Electronic Warfare System Technician and an instructor and supervisor in Electronic Warfare Countermeasures. Dwight was also the owner of Dwight Tellier Church Organs, Inc.
Dwight was a Small Arms Exp. Rifle Rbn, received the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 dev, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and 6 dev, Rep. of Vietnam Cross w/1 dev, Meritorious Service Medal w/1 dev., and countless other awards and recognitions for his service in the Air Force.
He enjoyed wood turning, old cars, making Christmas Fudge, designing and building anything, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Dwight was a member of the Lighthouse Wood Turners-American Association of Woodturners, National Rifle Association, VFW, Republican Party, and Bel-Aire Baptist Church.
Mr. Tellier was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Grace Tellier; and his brothers, Bob Tellier and Allan Tellier.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Allene Tellier; his daughters, Tania (Mac) Brooks and Tabatha (Rob) Dambrino; his siblings, Norma Hawkins, Ron Tellier, Larry (Anne) Tellier and Dan (Terri) Tellier; his grandchildren, Madylaine Brooks, Mia Brooks, Tyler Dambrino and Taylor Dambrino; other family, Marge Tellier, Vicki Jones, Doug (Linda) Tellier; and countless other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with the Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Friday, November 22 nd at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Burial will follow in the family cemetery on Leeward Drive in Gulfport.
