Dudley Cornelius Garriga, age 92, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, in Bay St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide Garriga and Leonia Peterson Garriga of Fenton, MS; his sisters, Vera Garriga Necaise, Velma Louise Garriga, Aline Francis Garriga Moran, Verna Andrezine Garriga Farrell, Agnelia Garriga, Myrle Louise "Frenchie" Garriga Kelly, and Roberta Garriga; his brother, John Redis Garriga; his grandson, Matthew David Garriga; and son in law, Glyn McDaniel.
Dudley is survived by his beloved wife of 74 ½ years, Norma Jean Ladner Garriga; his children, Thomas R. Garriga (Cindi), Keron S. Garriga McDaniel, Mark D. Garriga (Debra), Terry O. Garriga; his foster son, Thomas Andrews (Trudy); his grandchildren, Adam P. Garriga, Stephanee J. McDaniel, Clinton D. Garriga, Jennefer J. McDaniel Taylor, Amber L. Garriga, James M. McDaniel, and W. Andrew McDaniel; great grandchildren, Kathleen Taylor, Christian Taylor, and Keilah Taylor; and many loving family and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, and devoted family man. He was a Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in which he served all of his adult life. He was a researcher in Family History all of his life. He retired from Ford Motor Company.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at The Church of Latter Day Saints, 1900 McLaurin Street, Waveland, MS, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Interment will follow at Bayou La Croix Cemetery.
