Duc Nguyen

Duc Tan Nguyen, 57, of Long Beach died Sunday, November 19, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mr. Nguyen was a native of Saigon, Vietnamand was a graduate of Lasan Taberd. He served as a Lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Army and received training at Thu Duc Base. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Mr. Nguyen was a member of the Lasan Taberd Alumni Association and the Thu Duc Base Alumni chapter on the coast. He has been a resident of Long Beach since 1981 and worked as a supervisor at the Maytag Manufacturing Plant in Bay St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bac Van Nguyen and Hoa Thi Do.
Survivors include his wife, Ha Thi Tran, Long Beach; 5 children: Annie Nguyen, Long Beach, Henry (Lisa) Nguyen, Pacific Grove, CA, Anh (Duc Do) Nguyen, Houston, TX, Thu (Chuong) Nguyen, Gulfport, and Kiet Nguyen, Long Beach; 5 grandchildren: Adam Nguyen, Long Beach, Haley and Jenna Nguyen, Pacific Grove, CA, and Vy and Khanh Nguyen, Gulfport.
Visitation will be Friday, November 24, 2006 from 4 - 7 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Daughtery Rd., Long Beach. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the mass at the church.
