Drury Schneider

Drury Ryan Dragon Schneider, 93, of Pass Christian died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. She was born in Berwick, LA on May 28, 1914. She was preceded in death by her late husband Claude W. Schneider and her two sons, Michael Dragon, and Elbert J. Dragon and her sister Mrs. Douglas Howard, Sr. (Dora).
""""Dragon"""", as she was known, will be remembered for her spirit, and love of young people. She was an avid supporter of sailing with special emphasis on the junior and ladies sailing programs. Drury was active for many years in various civic and social activities including the Pass Christian Garden Club, St. Paul Carnival Association, St. Paul Catholic Church Altar Society, and the Pass Christian Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary. She has tirelessly worked for the community, through beautification and fundraising.
Prior to moving to the coast, she spent many years in Baltimore and Washington, DC, where she worked with the United Cerebral Palsy Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America.
She is survived by her grandson, Michael Dragon of Baltimore, Maryland, Nephew Doug Howard of New Orlenas and niece Lynn Abee of Hickory, North Carolina, and many loving and caring friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Catholic Church, on Menge Ave. in Pass Christian, with visitation starting one hour prior to Mass. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
