Dr. H.F. Campbell

Dr. H.F. Campbell, age 98, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Dr. Campbell was born in Deasonville, MS on June 22,1923 to Edna Davis and Robert F. Campbell in Yazoo County. He attended Benton High School and Holmes Junior College before joining the U. S. Army. He served as a medic from 1943 to 1945 in the European Theatre during World War II.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1952 and interned at Shreveport University Hospital.  Dr. Campbell established his medical practice in Wiggins Clinic and Stone County Hospital in 1954.  He helped build and establish Pine Burr country Club in 1972.  He spent many hours maintaining and enjoying the course.  He also helped to establish and open the First National Bank in 1973.

Dr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Davis, and Robert F. Campbell; his daughter, Shawn Campbell; his first wife Margaret Campbell; his sister, Claudene Wasson; and his brother Herbert Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Campbell; his children, Dr. Glenn Campbell (Leah), Steven Campbell (Michele), Cindy James (Ron), and Dawn Williams (Hal); his grandchildren, Michael Campbell, Christopher Campbell, Kylie Larson, McKenna Fowler, and Reagan Williams; and his great grandchildren, Ansley Kate Larson, Leyton Larson, Caden Fowler, Sarah Chandler Fowler.

The funeral service is at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, with the visitation for family and friends starting at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with Army Honors.

The family is requesting everyone to social distance and wear masks during the services.
