Dorris Paulette Johnson Dale Sherrell, age 63, resident of Woolmarket passed away on Monday, August 18, 2008, in Houston, TX.
Mrs. Sherrell was born in Mize, MS and grew up in Magee. She became a medical technologist and practiced for 11 years before retiring to become a full time wife and mother. An avid bridge player, she was a member of the American Contract Bridge League and the Gulf Coast Bridge Association for over thirty years, achieving Bronze Life Master in 2007. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. Kind and generous with her time and affection, she saw the beauty in everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David B. Dale, Sr., M.D. ; and her parents, Gatha and Mary Hubbard Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Lee Sherrell, Sr. of Woolmarket; children, Scarlett Dale and her son Gage of Biloxi, Susan P. Dale of Colorado, Isaac Fred Dale, III, M.D., and his wife Carol of Ocean Springs, David B. Dale, Jr. and his wife Jeanie of Aberdeen, Phyllis Dale Waring, M.D. of Slidell, LA; three stepchildren, Joy Lynn Cash and her husband Chris of Biloxi, Virgil Lee Sherrell, Jr. of Biloxi, and Floyd Nelson Sherrell, II and his wife Carol of Harrison County; and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, where friends may visit from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 22, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
