Dorothy "Dot" Benvenutti

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Dorothy “Dot” Ann Niolet Benvenutti, age 87, of Pass Christian, Mississippi passed into the loving arms of Our Savior on December 14, 2019.

Dot was born in DeLisle, Mississippi, the last of six children to Olivia and Victor Niolet on July 9, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Francis “Ben” Benvenutti; son, infant Joseph Benvenutti; brothers,  Werlin “Jim” and wife Nita, Ernett “Ernie”; sisters Ruth Delpit and husband Robert, Verma Hawkins, Neldra McDonald; brother in law, Eugene Benvenutti; sister in law, Mary Louise (Don) Bratton; and her daughter-in-law, Dr. Judith M. Benvenutti.

She is survived by son, Keith (Mary) Benvenutti of Diamondhead; daughters, Michelle (Bill) Deaton of Ocean Springs and Jan (Brian) Harper of Mooresville, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Thelma Piazza Niolet, and Sue Murphy Benvenutti; brothers-in-law, Fred McDonald and Albert Joseph “Butsy” Sperier; grandchildren, Will Deaton, Nick Harper, Dr. Erica Benvenutti, Kristin Harper (Patrick) Rice, and Ben Albert (Christine) Deaton; step-grandchildren, Ellen Clare Ladner, Dr. Austin (Ruth) Ladner, and Lieutenant Evan (Leslie) Ladner; great-grandchildren, Harper Lea Rice, William (Billy) Bernard Deaton, and Jude Patrick Rice; step great-grandchildren, Anna Collins Ladner, Andrew Ellis Ladner, and Nathan Joseph Ladner; and many nieces and nephews.

Dot worked for the city of Pass Christian, and was a member of the former St. Paul parish. Her hobbies included genealogy research, gardening, and sewing.

Her family would like to thank Notre Dame Hospice for the kind and   loving care she received.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Chapel of St. Paul on Scenic Drive in Pass Christian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Old DeLisle Cemetery.  Then family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at 973 E. Second Street,  Pass Christian.
