It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Dorothy M. Trent must announce her passing on July 17, 2020 at the age of 88. She was a resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi.
Dorothy (Dottie) was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lenoard Trent; her parents William and Lula Day; her sister Kathleen Gierhart; her brothers Bob and Ed Day; and her son-in-law, Abilene Police Officer Jeff McCoy.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sandy McCoy and grand-daughter Ella McCoy both of Pass Christian, MS; many nieces, nephews and dear friends whom she loved dearly.
Dorothy was born on November 9, 1931 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She met her lifetime love on a blind date and married in 1955; they were married for 62 years at his passing. She worked in Civil Service for many years and traveled the world with her husband as a loyal and loving military wife. Upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to Abilene TX where Dorothy worked alongside him in the oil business for many years. She also volunteered at Hendrick Medical Center, the Humane Society and served her community when called upon.
Dorothy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Abilene, TX and Long Beach, MS. She was a faithful servant who loved her Lord Jesus Christ unconditionally. She loved her family, friends and many pets deeply, most of all her precious grand-daughter Ella. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
The Graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 23,2020 at 11:00 am in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
