Dorothy Alice Harvey Potter, age 78 and a resident of Wiggins, MS, died on Sunday, October 11, 2009, in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mrs. Potter was more than your every day grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed every holiday and day spent with them. She enjoyed putting her grandmother touch on the foods she prepared for her family. She was very active and enjoyed craft works, yard work and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Harvey; her mother, Alma Agnes Warner Berdan; her husband, William Raymond Potter, Sr.; a daughter, Diane Potter and a brother, Gerald Harvey.
Mrs. Potter is survived by her daughters, Linda Weitzel, Jeanette Schroeder, Theresa Edwards, and Jennifer Potter, all of Wiggins; her sons, William R. Potter, Jr., of Sparta, TN and Curtis Stanfield of Elko, NV; her brothers, Cecil Harvey and Wilford Harvey, both of Port Huron, MI, and Robert Harvey of Davison, MI; her sisters, Grace Pray of Flint, MI and Lucille Smith of Tucson, AZ; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, including her great granddaughter, Victoria Fortner, whom she had a special relationship with.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS.
