Dorothy Joyce Plant Montague

Dorothy Joyce Edgar Plant Montague peacefully passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023. 

Dorothy was born on December 10, 1926 in Portsmouth, England to her late parents John and Ellen Edgar. Memories of Dorothy are left with her children Robert I. Plant (Jeannie), Thomas J. Plant, (Judy), Monica L. Plant (Kirk), David C. Montague (Melissa), Debbie M. Holloman (Jimmy) and her grandchildren Ryan W. Plant, Rosemary L. Plant (Andy), Andrew E. Plant (Emily), Karrington A. Montague, Kaitlynn G. Davis (Jestin), great grandchild Chandler R. Davis and a lifetime of wonderful friends and neighbors.

Dorothy was educated in England. She married the late Thomas E. Plant following the end of WWII and began her life in the United States. Following the death of Thomas Plant, Dorothy married the late L.N. (Monty) Montague and resided in Gulfport, MS until the time of her passing. 

Prior to retiring in 1989, Dorothy was very happily employed by the Hancock Bank for 21 years. She was an avid seamstress, embroiderer and reader. Dorothy held the intelligence of life and experiences to rival the Google search engine. She was amazing and she will be missed immensely.

Dorothy’s life will be happily remembered during her visitation on Thursday, March 16, 2023 between 2:00 pm and 4:00 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Upon Dorothy’s request, her family will spread her ashes in the breezes of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
