Dorothy Ann Leiker

Dorothy Ann Leiker, age 85, a resident of Long Beach, died on February 14, 2012, in Gulfport. Dorothy grew up in Douglasville, Georgia, and was a resident of Long Beach for 54 years. She was retired from the Long Beach Public Schools as a Teacher's Aide.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Lucille Ledbetter; her brother, Don Ledbetter; her son, Jac Leiker; and son-in-law, Bobby Pierce. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Leiker; her sisters, Jean Coffee (Rook) and Betty Ledbetter; her brothers, Wayne Ledbetter (Betty) and Mike Ledbetter; her daughter Pam Gilbert (Daniel); two sons, Mark Leiker (Marilyn), and Scott Leiker; her grandsons, Nicholas Leiker, Alex Pierce, and Ben Leiker; and her granddaughter, Grace Leiker.
Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, and her love of her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of the Willing Workers Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach. She took great pride in the work she did with children as a teacher's aide. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandchildren. Dorothy loved her brothers and sisters and looked forward to her annual visits with them. She loved her dear friends Lanore Fulton and Marie Walley, and many others.
The family prefers donations to the Willing Workers Sunday School class of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 from 10:30 to 12 Noon at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, with the funeral service starting at 12 Noon. Burial at Biloxi National Cemetery will be Private for Family. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com
