Dorothy L. Kinard, age 86 and a resident of Gulfport, went to her Heavenly home on Monday March 16, 2015. She was born in Meridian in 1928.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.M., Sr. and Verna Kinard; her brother, C.M., Jr.; her brother-in-law, James Hinson and nephews, Steve Hinson and Tommy Kinard Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Hinson, her brother, Tommy Sr. (Barbara) Kinard; her nephews, Gary (Cynthia) Hinson, Timmy (Laura) Kinard ; her nieces, Robbie Lynn (Richard) Hornsby and Jennifer Lettien; numerous great and great -great nieces and nephews, and her beautiful and beloved dogs Shu Shu, Lady Bridgette, and Lexi.
Dot, as she was known by family and friends, retired after 35 years of service at South Central Bell. She was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church, and served in the Lady's Prison Ministry and various other jobs throughout the years. She was very generous; always putting others before herself. Her first love was her Lord and Savior and her second was her family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 11am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the CanDo Sunday School Class at Bayou View Baptist Church in Gulfport.
