Dorothy J. Kanig

Dorothy J. (Sartin) Kanig, age 78, formerly of Gulfport, passed away on October 6, 2010 in Newton, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sartin and Mary E. Williams Sartin Ainsworth; her siblings, Mattie Mae Patterson, Mamie Lee Rutland, Ann Moree, Howard Webster, Joe Webster, and Ralph Sartin; and a grandson, Thomas S. Fairley, II.
She is survived by her son, Howard Norton (Debbie), their daughter, Shannon, and Shannon's children, Malcolm and Mark Edwards; her daughter, Betty Sue Fairley; and many family, friends, and co-workers.
She moved to Gulfport in 1950 and was employed at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport as a kidney dialysis technician for many years. She was a member of Pass Road Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Noon at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 12113 Hwy 49, Gulfport, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until service time. A private burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
