Dorothy Cissell

Dorothy Ruth Moehrle Cissell, age 85, died Wednesday night, October 28, 2009 in Durham, NC. She was born in St. Louis, MO and was a longtime resident of Gulfport, MS. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport, as well as the first Cafeteria Manager for St. James Elementary School from 1964-1974.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Art Cissell, the late conductor of the big band orchestra, The Stardusters.
Mrs. Cissell is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Mickie & Jack Ainsworth of Lafayette, LA, a son and daughter-in-law Michael & Dana Cissell of Durham, NC, a daughter and son-in-law, Marianne & Carl Thomas of Wetumpka, AL; grandchildren Denise Ainsworth, Kirk & Lyndi Ainsworth, Jessica & Keith Wenrich, Joy & Chris Rayburn, Joe & Ashley Thomas; great-grandchildren Brittney Wenrich, Peyton Wenrich, Mia Ainsworth, Grace Wenrich, Jack Ainsworth, Macie Rayburn.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 1st, beginning at 11:00am at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. The Catholic service will begin at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel.
Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral service at St. James Cemetery on Pass Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church and School, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.
