Dorothea Dot H. Sawyer

Dorothea H. Sawyer was born on June 10, 1916 in New Orleans, LA, and died in Bay St. Louis, MS on December 25, 2009. She had been a resident of Pass Christian since 1974.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Sawyer; her parents Dudley G. and Pauline H. Hanemann; her sisters, Yvonne Hanemann, Emily (Sally) Gumpert, Mildred Rogers, and brothers, Dudley G. Jr. and Paul H. Hanemann.
She is survived by daughters Linda Owen and her husband, Norman; Alice (Dodie) Brunsfeld and her husband, Michael; and son, Steven F. Sawyer, and his wife, Lori Lea; grandchildren Michael and Thomas Owen, Bonnie Owen LaForge, Max Brunsfeld, Steven F. (Frankie) and Dylan Sawyer and Taylor Ray Roberts; also great-grandchildren Katherine and Seth Owen and Andrew and Christian Sawyer.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Pass Christian, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. The family will welcome friends for coffee and visitation in the church fellowship hall during the hour before the service.
The family expresses gratitude to Hospice Compassus and the staff of Dunbar Village in Bay St. Louis, MS for the loving care provided. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First United Methodist Church, 526 E. Second Street, Pass Christian, MS 39571 or to the charity of your choice are preferred.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Road in Pass Christian, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
