Doris Sweitzer

September 4, 1925 — January 9, 2007

Doris K. Sweitzer, born on September 4, 1925, left us on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 9:50pm in her living room in Gulfport, Mississippi, with her son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Sweitzer, by her side when she breathed her last breath.
She has left behind her son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Sweitzer, who took care of her and lived next door to her, who brought her to Gulfport, Mississippi from Palmyra, Pennsylvania in 1995 where she had lived for 31 years. Along with her daughter Jacquie, and her husband Mark McDonald who lives in Middleburg, Florida, and her grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Sweitzer and Caitlin McDonald, and her sister, Jacquie Moran and her husband John and their children, Stuart and Christopher. She was a joy to us, and we will miss her until the day we join her in Heaven. She is there now with her husband Charles, her mom and dad, John Lacey and Elanore Kellon, her brother, Bobby Kellon and her grandson, Ryan McDonald, along with a lot of other friends and family to give her a warm welcome, and enjoy in her new founded health.
She was clear until the end, and she left this world in the way she wanted, with her children by her side. I know she was happy, and felt cherished in her life. We were blessed by her in so many ways, and she will be missed, but we are happy she is finally healthy again, and with her husband. She is probably right now on a Heavenly golf course, hitting that hole in one.
We will celebrate her life in true Sweitzer tradition at her home on 12371 Corries Place, Gulfport, Mississippi at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 13, 2007 with a memorial service to be held there. She didn't want anyone to see her in the end, she wanted everyone to remember her as she was in her youth, and we will honor her in this way on Saturday.
The Riemann family's GULF COAST FUNERAL HOME, Three Rivers Road Chapel in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements and an online guestbook may be signed at www.gulfcoastfh.com.
