Doris Spikes

Doris Hansen Spikes, passed in peace on Monday, August 30, 2021, at the age of 89 and joined the love of her life Buddy Spikes in their eternal home of heaven. Doris was born November 14, 1932, to the late Martin and Ella Hansen of Gulfport, MS. She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Doris retired from Gulf Park College in Long Beach, MS, and the City of Gulfport School System.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Spikes; her parents, Martin and Ella Hansen; her brothers, Harold and Charles (C.L.) Hansen; and her sisters, Beatrice McGrevey and Betty Jean Triola.

Doris is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends along with her caretaker and niece Janet Peterson, devoted neighbors, Gene and Kay Bermond and her many stray cats.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Doris touched are invited to the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS for a visitation on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 9:00am with a celebration of life service to follow at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery on 28th St, Gulfport, MS.
