Donna Schonewitz Necaise, a beloved member of the Pass Christian community in Mississippi, has peacefully passed away at the age of 60 on August 23, 2023. Surrounded by her loved ones, Donna was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Donna was born on November 30, 1962, in Jackson, Mississippi. From a young age, she had accepted Jesus as her Savior and held a non-denominational faith. Donna's love and devotion to her family were unmatched. She cherished being a partner, mother, and Nana and brought immense joy to their lives.
Donna dedicated over 20 years of service to Ingalls Shipyard as a loyal employee. Her work ethic and commitment were exceptional, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
In her free time, Donna enjoyed spending quality moments with her family. She found solace and happiness in the great outdoors, particularly through hunting expeditions with her beloved "Hunny" Billy. The serene beauty of nature drew her to the river where she could immerse herself in its splendor. Alongside these passions, Donna possessed a heart of gold that propelled her to help others in any way possible. Her selflessness extended to volunteering at Feed My Sheep during the holiday season.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical team at Gulfport Memorial Hospital and Vital Care Hospice for providing compassionate care during Donna's illness. Their support was invaluable during this challenging time.
Donna's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her deeply. In honor of her life and legacy, donations can be made to the Gulfport Memorial Cancer Center.
Donna Schonewitz Necaise is preceded in death by her beloved husband Phillip Necaise, parents, three siblings, and brother-in-law JoJo Necaise. While we mourn their loss, we find solace in knowing that Donna is reunited with them in eternal peace.
She is survived by her loyal fur baby Sophie, her devoted fiancé Billy Joe "Hunny" Necaise, and her loving children Amanda (Jeremy) Wilson and Michael "Boo" Schonewitz (Jennifer). Donna's stepchildren Cody and Courtney were also blessed by her presence. She leaves behind a cherished brother Tommy (Jenn) Hopson, four adoring grandchildren Ellysa, Carter, Lane, and Elise Ruth. Donna was loved dearly by her father and mother-in-law, Elvert and Geraldine Necaise. She is also survived by Nancy (Paul) Brewer, Douglas (Antoinette) Necaise, Brian (Cindy) Necaise - her sisters- and brothers-in-law who held a special place in her heart. Lastly, Donna treasured the lifelong friendship she shared with Mike, Trudy, Chop, and Roro - her best friends and coworkers. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her love.
