Mrs. Donna Lee Ross Scheid, age 69, resident of Long Beach, MS, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, in Gulfport after a long illness.
Donna was born June 25, 1939, in Dunbar, WV to the late Harold and Lucille Ross. Her family heritage dates back to Betsy Ross, who sewed the first American flag. Mrs. Scheid was a great niece, several times removed. She was married December 22, 1962 to Donald Joseph Scheid, and she was a homemaker and resident of Long Beach for the last 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Betsy Ross Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Scheid, Sr. of Long Beach; children, Michael Scheid and his wife Sherri, Deborah O'Halloran, Donald J. Scheid, Jr. and his wife Lisa; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as """"Nan-Naw.""""
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Monday, September 22, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, from 12 noon-2 pm.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2008, at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Scheid, Sr., Donnie Scheid, Michael Scheid, Jr., Lawrence Dambrino, Lewis Fahnestock, and Farrell Alves.
