Donald “Red” William Lawson, a native and lifelong resident of Metairie, LA and a recent resident of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, age 56 years.

Beloved husband of 23 years to Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Hartman-Lawson.  Son of the late Doris M. Kent Lawson and James Patrick Lawson, Sr.  Brother of Dennis G. Lawson (Nora), David E. Lawson (Tricia), Johnny J.  Lawson, Mary Lawson Young (Kevin) and the late James Patrick “Pat” Lawson Jr. (Patricia) and Michael K. Lawson.  Son-In-Law of Margaret Brignac Hartman and the late H. Gordon Hartman.  Brother-In-Law of Mary Clare Hartman, H. Eric Hartman, Monica H. North (Earl T. North II), Emily M. Hartman and J. Matthew Hartman. Uncle of Ryan P. Lawson, Christopher M. Lawson (Jenny), Colin T. Lawson, Lindsey N. Lawson. David E. Lawson, Jr. Jazzmen C. Lawson, Shanna A. Young (Fiance Blake).  Godfather of Shanna Young and Brock Aron.  Also survived by many cousins.

Donald was graduated from East Jefferson High School. He was a Finance Manager with Premier Automotive Group. Previously, Donald worked in the hospitality industry at Commanders Palace, Palace Café, Deanie’s Seafood as well as in Dahlonega, GA. Donald enjoyed Mardi Gras, the New Orleans Saints and was an avid golfer and billiards player. He also enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3:30 PM in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119, with Rev. Jack Boudreaux as officiant.

Interment will be private.  Visitation Saturday afternoon from 1:30 PM until funeral time.  The family prefers no flowers.

The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Pass Christian, is serving the family.
