Donald R. "Don" Thompson

Donald R. ""Don"" Thompson, age 65, of Gulfport passed away August 9, 2012.
Don was born in Jackson, MO and went to High School in Jackson. He moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1982. While living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Don worked for Ingalls for ten years and held many positions with many different companies.
He loved to go four wheeling, go fishing, go camping, work on his various projects, and he really enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Henson; and foster parents, Freddie and Edith Ristig.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Ellen Mallette Thompson; his children, Larry Thompson, Loretta Thompson, Amanda L. Mathieu, and Eddie Mathieu; his siblings, Shirley Harbson, Elizabeth Harr, James Thompson, John Wachoski, Mark Wachoski, Tommy Howell, Mary Ann Reynolds, Loretta Glasser, David Lingo, Annie Henson, and Lester Henson; his grandchildren, Jessica Kent, Jerrica Bond, Kaleb Brooks, and Trevor Thompson; and papa's little man Thomas Mathieu; and four great grandchildren. He also loved his furry friends, Bugar Bear, Jake, Spike, Raecal, Bruiser, and Jack.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am, with the visitation one hour prior, on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will follow at Vancleave #1, Jim Ramsay Road, Vancleave.
