Donald Thomas (Tom) Price of Ocean Springs went home to his Heavenly Father on Aug. 21, 2021. He was 77 years old.
Tom was born and raised in Lake Charles, La. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1962 and began a long career in heavy industry, working for Chicago Bridge & Iron, Conoco, and for KBR, a division of Brown & Root, in Iraq.
An avid golfer for many years, Tom also owned The Golf Center in Ocean Springs during the early to mid 1990s before returning to refinery work. During his lifetime, Tom also called Montana, California, and Texas home at one time or another, but spent his last three decades calling Ocean Springs home. He was also a passionate gun collector and gunsmith who owned his own gunsmithing business during his retirement years.
Always a working man, Tom was a 15-year-old delivering newspapers when he met Sandra Williamson, then 13, for the first time. Sandra said she knew right then that 15-year-old boy would be the man she would marry.
She was right. Tom and Sandra were married Oct. 1, 1963, in Lake Charles. They would remain married for the next 57 years until Tom’s death. They raised three daughters together.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin J. Price and Myrtle Price Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; their three daughters: Dawn Raybon and Angela Kulo of Ocean Springs; and Shari Belcher and her husband, David, of Grants Pass, Oregon; as well as five grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Wyatt, Cody and Sydney Kulo; and Jimmy and Lauren Raybon.
