Rev. Donald Ray Lambert of Gulfport, MS passed away surrounded by his family on October 26, 2017, at the age of 75.  His steadfast faith in the promises of God provided him and his family with the peace and comfort of knowing that his journey with God has just begun.
He is preceded in death by his parents C.H. and Hazel Lambert; a sister, Nettie Faye Lambert; his brothers, Jewel Lambert, Kenneth Lambert; a sister-in-law, Kay Lambert; and his brothers -in-law, Clinton McLemore, Sidney Williams, Lee Findley, and Sidney Puckett.
Don is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Gulfport, MS; his sons Mark Lambert of Gulfport and Scott Lambert (Amber) of The Woodlands, TX; his grandchildren, Kailey and Jackson Lambert of The Woodlands, TX; his brother, Charles Lambert (Bonnie) of Jacksonville, Tx.; his sisters, Lelia McLemore of Jackson, MS, Joann Williams, Hilda Findley and Brenda Puckett, all of Clinton, MS; a sister-in-law, Deborah Lambert of Brandon, MS and many loved nieces and nephews.
Don was born in Jayess, MS to Charles H. and Hazel Lambert.  He joined the Army in 1959 and served for three years in Germany.  After an honorable discharge from the military, he attended Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.  In April, 1979 Don was ordained as a minister by the Church of the Nazarene.  On December 30, 1966, Don married Kathryn Bailey, the love of his life and they spent the next 51 years raising a family while serving several congregations in Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.  Rev. Lambert retired from Long Beach Church of the Nazarene after serving as pastor for 31 years.
A HOMEGOING CELEBRATION Service will be at the New Vision (Emanuel) Church of the Nazarene, 3775 Terry Road, Jackson, MS on Saturday November 11, 2017 with a visitation at 1:00PM, Celebration service at 2:00PM followed by reception.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don's Life.
