MSgt. Donald Ray Humphries, USAF, Retired, age 73, of Biloxi passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
Mr. Humphries was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a C-130 crewmember and retired with 20 years of honorable service as a Master Sergeant. He earned his Master's Degree in Oceanography and Business Management, and worked in civil service at Keesler Air Force Base as an instructor prior to retirement.
He was a member and Deacon at Emanuel Baptist Church in Biloxi, and in his free time enjoyed horse riding, fishing and hunting. Donald loved and was devoted to his family, and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Donald Humphries and Ida Mae Humphries.
He is survived by Rebecca ""June"" Humphries, his loving wife of 50 years; four children, Donna June McGehee of Biloxi, Daphne Jo O'Barr and her husband Bobby, of D'Iberville, Debra Jean Humphries of Biloxi, and Donald Ray Humphries, Jr. of Pasadena, Maryland; sister, Linda S. Burson of Strong, AR; brother, William Humphries of Eldorado, AR; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at RIEMANN FAMIY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
