Dona Jean Forte

Dona Jean Forte, age 94, of Pass Christian, passed away on June 14, 2023.

She was born in Wiggins, MS to William Cooper Rogers and Dona Breland Rogers.  Her late husband was Vincent Paul Forte.  Dona was the youngest of six siblings, J.M. Rogers, Maris Rester, Pete Rogers, Margie Taylor, and Eldwyn Rogers.

She is survived by her children, Randy Forte, Jerry Forte (Darlene) of Pass Christian, Shirley Forte Hughes (Bill) of Long Beach; two step-sons, Ken Forte (Barbara) of Bossier City, LA, and Rick Forte (the late Sunnye Forte) of Hattiesburg; her grandchildren, Megan Hughes Mills (Robert) of Gulfport, Kellie Hughes Schmalzried (Jaden) of Savannah, TX, Lauren Forte Kulikowski (Timmy) of Diamondhead, and Jeremy Forte (Calynn) of Pass Christian; 5 great-grandchildren, Wrigley, Collin, Ellie, Knox, and Navy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Dona Jean was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wiggins.  She was a nurse in Hattiesburg for several years and then devoted herself to her family.  Dona was wonderful homemaker who could do it all.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her family meant everything to her!  She also had a very special place in her heart for her siblings and her many nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the administrators, nurses, aides, and staff at One Magnolia Place.  You all took such good care of our mother and we are forever grateful. 

There will be a private graveside service for the family in Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 3:30 PM.
