Mr. Don Arthur Kuhn, age 62, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at his home in Biloxi after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Kuhn was born in Belleville, IL and moved to Biloxi when he was 12 years old, where he attended Biloxi schools. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1964 and attended USM.
Don owned and operated Biloxi Souvenir Center along with his wife and both sons. The Kuhn family was in the souvenir business for 50 years. Don enjoyed working in his yard, duck hunting, fishing, playing poker, and traveling with his family and friends.
He served on the Biloxi Parks and Recreation Board for years and later on the Biloxi Taxi and Limousine Board. He and his wife were involved and held offices for Biloxi Little League Baseball and later the Biloxi Babe Ruth Baseball. Don was a past member of the Neptune Carnival Association, and member of the Elks Lodge in Biloxi for 35 years.
Mr. Kuhn was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur C. and Merle Mae Kuhn and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Poser.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen; son, Craig and his wife, Marlo; son, Kenny and his wife, Shawn; two granddaughters, Katherine and Kristen; and one grandson, Kenneth II, all of Biloxi.
The family wishes to give special thanks to all their friends who have been so supportive in their thoughts and prayers. A special thank you to Deaconess Hospice for all their loving care.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Biloxi City Cemetery.
