Dominick S. """"Nick"""" Alongi, 67, of Diamondhead, passed away Tuesday April 14, 2009 in Metairie.
Mr. Alongi retired from ExxonMobil Chalmette, LA Refinery. He was a member of the Gulf Coast Worship Center in Long Beach and a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Mr. Alongi was preceded in death by his father, Dominick Joseph Alongi, and his sister, Letha Alongi.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Marie Ponceti Alongi of Diamondhead; his mother, Letha Alongi of Carriere, MS; his six children, Gaynell Ross (Kenny), Dominick Alongi (Katherine), Desiree Tharpe (Randle), Jennifer Williams (Clint), Jamie Begnaud (Michelle), and Chad DeShazo; his two sisters, Cora Graffeo and Catherine Krieger; his brother, Nolden Alongi; and his four grandchildren, Kenny Ross, Nicky Alongi, Zoe Tharpe, and Lexi Tharpe.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 from 6-8 pm for friends and family at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11 am. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to service time.
