Dolores O. Smith was called to be with our Lord on January 1, 2019.
Dolores was born to Portuguese immigrants in New Bedford, MA on December 13, 1933. She moved to the coast in the 1950's where she and her husband later opened and operated George Smith Travel Service for over 20 years. Dolores was active in the American Business Women's Association and The Gulfport Jaycettes Club. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was an active supporter and matriarch of her favorite band Change to Eden.
Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, George M. Smith, Jr.; and her son, Michael S. Smith, Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Smith (Judy), Gary Smith; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2 PM at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach with visitation starting at 1:30 PM.
