Dolores P. Krug, age 90, of Long Beach, passed away on November 29, 2021.
Mrs. Krug is survived by her children, Phyllis Krug, Brian Krug, Garett Krug (Sandra), George Krug (Joann), Karen Griffis (Neal); her brother, Herbert Parker (Jody); her grandchildren, Diane Krug, Amanda Krug, George Joseph Krug, Brittany Griffis, and Amber Horton; her great grandchildren, Danika Degennaro, Sophia Degennaro, Abigail Sullivan, Cerone Krug, Lyra Krug, Ruby Horton, Isabel Horton, and Griff Horton; her nephews, Gary Parker and Patrick Parker; and her cousins, Grace Parker, Joe Parker, Timothy Saenz, and Mary Scott.
Mrs. Krug was a resident of Washington, D.C., and Long Beach. She earned her associate’s degree from Prince George County, MD. She worked at the U.S. Department of State as a receptionist as well as the Naval Construction Battalion Center (Gulfport Seabee base). She served as a Toastmistress and pursued special education programs for Pass Christian and Long Beach school systems in the 1970’s.
Mrs. Krug was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge, and was a big fan of Notre Dame football. She was a member of the U.S. Navy Women’s Retirement Club and a supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Mrs. Krug was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery, Biloxi.
