Doice Elgin Albert "Deal" Lewis, age 35, of Long Beach, Mississippi, left his earthly life on May 26, 2018. Deal is preceded in death by his brother Timothy Lewis. He is survived by his parents, Ellis and Geraldine Lewis of Long Beach, MS; two sisters, Nola Lewis Beller and Marcel Lewis; two brothers, Morgan Lewis and Devin Lewis; and many other family members and friends.
Deal was born in Mississippi and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Long Beach High School, where he was a trumpeter in the school band. He was active in Boy Scouts of America Troop 205 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Additionally, Deal loved all things about trains. He collected model trains and studied to be a locomotive engineer at the University of North Florida's Railroad Institute, graduating with honors. He also attended Jeff Davis Junior College.
Deal was talented at operating heavy construction equipment and used this skill at many places of employment. His interest was sparked when he was a young boy and his dad would take him by construction work sites and explain the equipment to him.
Deal was known for trying to get folks laughing with his silly antics and humorous stories. He loved spending time with cousins at the family farm, hunting, listening to all types of music, viewing and shooting fireworks, and reading, especially about trains and their history in the USA.
Deal was a kind and compassionate soul and a loving friend to many. He will live in our hearts forever.
