Dixie Lou Spreitler, age 72, of Long Beach, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Spreitler was an active member of First Baptist Church of Orange Grove and was a Sunday School Teacher. She retired from West Chiropractic Clinic having worked with Dr. Hubert Smith for 20+ years as a receptionist.
Dixie was a woman of strong faith and shared it with all she met. She was someone we all hope to grow up and be one day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Wilma Phelps; three sons, David Spreitler, Carl Davis, and Clinton Davis; and her brother, Larry Phelps.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William J. Spreitler of Long Beach; two children, Sherri Killegrew and her husband, Kevin of Long Beach, and Danny J. Spreitler and his wife, Denise of Amory, MS; her siblings, Linda Foster and her husband, Carl of Gulfport, and Jim Phelps and his wife, Jenny of Poplar Bluff, MO; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Orange Grove, with visitation one hour prior to service.
A private burial will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
