Dewey V. Hoda, Sr, age 77, of Kiln, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Kiln.
Mr. Hoda lived most of his life in Kiln and he retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette. He was a devout catholic and an active parishoner of Annunciation Catholic Church. He was awarded the Lumen Christi twice from the Diocese of Biloxi. Mr. Hoda loved gardening, especially working in the yard with his azalea bushes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pomalone and Lillie Necaise Hoda, 4 brothers, Herman, Floyd, Norman, and Leon Hoda, and a grandson, Brian Hoda.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Aline Hoda, 6 sons, Dewey ""Bubbie"" (Marlene) Hoda, Jr., Martin (Kateri) Hoda, Gene (Joye) Hoda, Wayne (Fay) Hoda, Michael Hoda, and Quentin Hoda, 1 brother, Ronald Hoda, 4 sisters, Carolyn Hoda, Dorothy Bermond, Flora Mae Chiniche, and Marian LaFontaine, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kiln DeLisle Road. A rosary will be recited at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday at the old Annunciation Catholic Church.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery @ Rotten Bayou.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Douglas Lanier and his staff for their special care over the last 20 years.
Memorials may be sent to the St. Stanislaus Annual Fund, 304 South Beach, Blvd., Bay St. Louis, MS 39520.
