Denise Michelle Johnson

Denise Michelle Johnson, 62 of the Mississippi Gulf Coast passed away at her residence in Diamondhead on October 6, 2024. She was born on December 4, 1961 in Gulfport, MS to the late A.P. & Hazel Bosarge. Denise is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Montie Malone, Bonnie Simmons, Connie Simmons, and Raudy Bosarge; and good friend, Cindy Taylor.

Denise graduated from D’Iberville High School. She was caretaker by trade and loved taking care of her patients. Denise loved looking for a good bargain and loved going to thrift stores and garage sales. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with family friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Family outings were some of the best times. She was a funny and outgoing person who loved meeting new people. Denise was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. Her legacy lives on in all of us and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Denise is survived by her loving children, Eva (Barrett) Strachan, Charlene (Jerry) Chapman Farmer, and Josh (Felicia) Chapman; grandchildren, Brandon, Audra, Chana, Sydney, and Kailee; siblings, Alfred (Linda) Bosarge, Frances Scott Lawrence (Stephen), Albert (Joy) Bosarge, Rex (Janet) Bosarge, Tex Bosarge, Ebbie (Doris) Bosarge, and Hazel Padgett, and good friend, Donna Lawrence, and Canelli Thomas. Denise also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport). Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport with burial to follow in Walden Delancey Peace Cemetery.
