Dolores Snow was born Josephine Dolores Bombach in Las Cruces, New Mexico on March 22, 1933. She died in Jackson, MS on November 13, 2023.  She was the oldest of five children born to Ramón and Aurora Bombach.  Raised on a family cotton farm in Mesilla, New Mexico during the Great Depression, Dolores attended Mesilla High School and was active in the local 4-H program.  She was awarded a silver thimble by President Harry S. Truman for designing a woman’s winter coat in a national 4-H fashion design contest.  

While attending college at New Mexico A&M, she met her future husband of fifty years, Glenn Austin Snow. After graduating with a degree in Home Economics, she taught at Mesilla High School. In 1954, she married Glenn after he returned from his Army service in Korea and the next year, Mark, the first of four children was born.  In 1957, the young family made their home in Long Beach, Mississippi, where Albert, Wayne and Barbara were born.   Dolores was a very active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where she played many different roles and was honored with a Papal Blessing by Pope Francis.  She loved having daily coffee with her lifelong friends. 

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents, and her brothers, Pat and Dick Bombach. 

She is survived by her children, Mark Snow (Janet) of Madison, MS, Albert Snow (Nena) of Camden, AR, Wayne Snow (René) of Long Beach, MS, and Barbara Craft (Jason) of Jackson, MS; her grandchildren, Louis Snow (Charlotte) of Costa Mesa, CA, Ben Snow (Sarah) of Hattiesburg, MS, Whitney Hull (Joey) of Madison, MS, Trent Wright of Jackson, MS, Tim Snow of New Orleans, LA, Austin and Anna Holladay Craft of Jackson, MS; and eight great-grandchildren, Glenn, Callie, Paxton, Davis, Sally Kate, Owen, Lillian and Shep, She is also survived by two sisters:  Marion Barboa of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Peggy Warren of Aztec, New Mexico.

The family would like to thank Inez Porter and the staff at The Blake At Township.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9 – 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church.  Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach, MS or a charity of your choice.
