Mr. Delmer Rufus Ladner, age 78, resident of Gulfport, died on Thursday, December 27, 2007, in Gulfport.
Mr. Ladner was a lifelong resident of Harrison County and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the VA as a mental health associate and attended St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 119, in Gulfport and served 11 years on the Gulfport VA Credit Union Board of Directors and Credit Committee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dantzler and Lee Jones Ladner; wife, Patricia Ladner; sister, Evelyn Sauder; and brothers, Benjamin H., Dyllus, Donald J., Barney, and Bobby J. Ladner.
He is survived by his children, David Ladner of Gulfport and his wife Gail, and Ronald Ladner of Wiggins; stepchildren, Robert Davis of Georgia and his wife Yvonne, John Davis of Ocean Springs and his wife Delena, and Veronica Lott of Horton, AL; sisters, Lanelle King of Lizana and her husband W.C., and Betty Jo Howard of Hurley and her husband William; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North, where friends may visit from 6-9 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
