Deborah Postler

October 21, 1957 — February 6, 2022

Biloxi

Just before 6pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022, Deborah “Debbie” Annette Postler (White), age 64, joined her heavenly Father.

Debbie was born October 21, 1957, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mast. Chief Jesse William White, Sr.  and Ethel Mae Dennison White.
Debbie leaves her loving husband, Dr. Mark Postler, after a wonderful marriage of almost eighteen years.  Mark’s love, care and compassion for Debbie will forever be appreciated.  Debbie is survived by her 2 children, her daughter, Jessica A. Lahaie (Brad), of Biloxi, Mississippi and her son, Joshua T. McKay, of Biloxi, Mississippi.  Debbie adored her four grandchildren, Jacqueline A. Lahaie, Hayden A. McKay, Kylie A. McKay, and Brodie A. Lahaie.
Debbie was a huge proponent of higher education.  She graduated from D’Iberville High School in D’Iberville, Mississippi. She was an outstanding student, school leader, and athlete in basketball. Debbie attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau sorority, and she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (RN). Debbie went on and finished her education at Xavier University in Louisiana, where she earned a master’s degree to pursue her lifelong dream of serving the healthcare profession as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Debbie served throughout her nursing career in several healthcare facilities ranging from Louisiana to Mississippi.  Ultimately, Debbie retired from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport after many years of dedicated service.
Debbie lived a spiritual life and was faithful and loved her Lord and Savior. Debbie was in so many ways involved in her church serving as a gifted pianist and children’s ministry Sunday school director. Wherever she lived, Debbie was always involved in community activities. Debbie was a very special woman who was multitalented and was known for surrounding herself with and caring for animals.  Debbie could always be found being creative in hobbies such as sewing, quilting, craft making, gardening, and cooking.
The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Bosarge and Dr. Douglas Lanier for the service and care to Debbie over her final years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research https://www.stopsarcoidosis.org/ the Shriners Hospital https://donate.lovetotherescue.org or the Humane Society of South Mississippi  https://hssm.org/
