Mrs. Dean """"Jewel"""" Turan, age 76, of Saucier, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010.
Mrs. Turan was a native of Alabama and a long-time resident of the Coast. She was a member of Poplar Head United Methodist Church. She had been a bus driver for Harrison County Schools and a manager of TG & Y in Orange Grove. She recently retired after 20 years of service at the Gulfport Wal Mart.
Mrs. Turan was preceded in death by her husband, Merrell Turan; her parents, Jessie and Annie Clemens Hines; and five siblings.
Survivors include her son, Craig A. Turan, Sr.; grandson, Craig A. Turan, Jr. and wife, Jerri; great-grandsons, David and Darrin DuVall, all of Saucier; sisters, Opal Hicks and Mable Skillian, both of St. Joseph, TN; brother, Clayburn Hines of Florence, AL; sister-in-law, Pearl Hines of Florence; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Alabama and Tennessee.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport. On Monday, March 29, friends and family will join together at 2 p.m. at Poplar Head Cemetery for a viewing and graveside service.
