Dean L. Jackson

SMSgt Dean L. Jackson, U.S. Air Force, Ret., age 84, of Saucier, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Christopher Dean Jackson; and his parents William Opal Jackson and Hazel Minor Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ella C. Jackson of Saucier; his sons Terry D. Jackson (Brenda Kay) of Arlington, VA, Gary D. Jackson (Linda) of Gulfport, MS, Jody B. Jackson (Darlene Stewart) of Woolmarket; his daughter Jacqueline ""Jackie"" E. Groark (Brian) of Deluth, GA; his grandchildren Stephen A. Jackson, Sarah M. Reviere (Gary), Joy Schonewitz (Ollie), Misty Warburton (Michael), Michelle N. Jackson, Tyler A. Jackson, Brian Jackson, Miranda Stewart, Matthew A. Valestro, Jeremy J. Valestro, and Gabriel J. Groark; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
SMSgt Jackson served our country in the United States Air Force and retired after 26 years. He was active duty during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and received numerous commendations for his service. Following his military career, he was a civil engineer for the Mississippi Air National Guard and retired after 20 years of service.
He attended Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.Success Baptist Church and was a member of the Woolmarket Lions Club and the American Legion.
After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering his time with his family at Jackson's Pharmacy where he met many new friends.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He put his family first, enjoyed family gatherings, and was proud of all his children's accomplishments.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Floral Hills
