Dawn Maria Hollingsworth

Dawn Maria Hollingsworth, a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away on October 5, 2024, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 55. Born on May 1, 1969, Dawn's life was marked by her deep commitment to family and community.

Dawn attended LeFlore County High School in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was proud of her roots in Morgan City, holding onto the spirit of her hometown as she transitioned to life in Gulfport.

Dawn was a member of the Morgan City Baptist Church. She found joy in spending time with her family, particularly with her beloved grandchildren, Odysseus Awad, Iris Awad, and Liam Scarborough. Those who knew her often remarked on her warmth, kindness, and the genuine love she poured into every relationship.

Dawn is survived by her mother, Lula Mae Cockrum, and her father, Bobby Page.  She leaves behind two daughters, Carley Jane Thomas and Hannah Awad, as well as a son, Adnan Awad. Her sister, Patty Roncali, will also carry forward her memory. Additionally, Dawn is survived by her extended family members, including Jerry Gardner, Christin Gardner, Zack Gardner, Dakota Gardner, Nick Gardner, Daniel Gardner, Livy Rae Gardner, Tiana Gardner, Daisy Gardner, and Cynthia Gardner, who were all dear to her heart.

Although she faced profound losses, including her son, Joshua Page, and her ex-husband, Jamal Awad, Dawn’s legacy of love and resilience will continue through her family and friends.

Dawn Maria Hollingsworth lived a life dedicated to nurturing connections, and her memory will remain a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know her. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all whose lives she touched.
