David James Wilson, age 59, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at home in Gautier with his wife by his side. He fiercely fought an 8 month battle with cancer. He is now resting in the arms of Jesus, who became his Savior a few days before his passing.
He was born August 31, 1960, in Colorado Springs, CO. David is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dawn Marie Dunaway Wilson; a son, Aaron Wilson (Jacqueline) and granddaughter Caroline; Anna and Austin Wilson; his father, Tom Wilson; brothers, Tom, Jr. (Stacey), Steve (Shelley); a sister, Dawn Hill (Bill); and numerous nieces and nephews. His mother, Shirley Wright Wilson, preceded him in death in October 2019.
Mr. Wilson had been employed with Broussard Electric of D’Iberville, MS prior to his illness. He courageously fought his cancer from the moment he received his diagnosis. David was a big football fan and loved the Saints and the Florida Gators. He enjoyed playing golf, restoring autos, drawing and painting, and was quick to tell a joke.
David was a loving husband, father, son, brother and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Paul UMC Youth Fund, 6716 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564 or the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 29th, 2020, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County, where friends may visit from 9 – 11 am.
