David Lester Thomas, 68 and a resident of Saucier, MS died on Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Thomas was born in Sand Mtn., Alabama, and was a coast resident most of his life. He was a sheet metal mechanic, and in the 1950's, he was the youngest sheet metal mechanic on the coast. In his younger years he loved horses. He loved cars, enjoyed Crusin' the Coast, and traveling to Tennessee with family.
Mr. Thomas was preceded by his parents, Clar """"Tom"""" and Lora Thomas affectionately known by family and friends as Papa and Nanny; and his brother James Robert """"Bobby"""" Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy """"Dot"""" Thomas of Saucier; his children, Diana Stephens of Saucier, Dwayne Thomas (Valerie) of Gulfport, Dena Cuevas (Raymond) and Debra Lea Sarver, all of Saucier; four grandchildren, Jaime Smith of Gulfport, Jimmy Stephens of Gulfport, Stefany Thomas of TN, and Dylan Thomas of Gulfport; four great grandchildren, Madisen Smith, Connor Stephens, Morgan and Jordan Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 N., Gulfport, where friends and family may visit from 12 Noon until service time. Burial will follow in Rouse Cemetery.
