David Ray Stewart, age 62, of Gulfport, passed away on July 11, 2020.
He was preceded in death y his father, Dr. Ray H. Stewart; his mother, Susie W. Stewart; a sister, Becky Stewart; and a nephew, Stewart M. Webb.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gayle D. Stewart; his children, David M. Stewart, Emily M. Stewart (John Trey Everett), and Kristin R. Hebert (Brian); 3 sisters, Susan Pagano (Richard), Debbie Webb (Mike), and Beverly King (Russ); 2 grandchildren, Abigayle N. Stewart and Reese A. Hebert; special friends, Phil and JoEllen Mechatto, Dan Fulton, Matt Thomas, his “favorite daughter” Sadie, and many other close friends he considered family.
David was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a 1976 graduate of St. John High School. He owned and operated Comm-Tech Solutions, Inc. since 2001.He loved to host crawfish boils and BBQ’s and spending time with his granddaughters and family. You could always find him sitting on the back porch enjoying his favorite spot.
David loved his family more than anyone we know. He considered so many people “family” that we could never list them all. He was a man of his word that you could depend on under any circumstance. He could fix anything and was our own problem solver – “MacGuyver.” He will be missed by so many.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport. A prayer service will be at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
All current mandates regarding social distancing and masks requirements will be adhered to during the visitation and service.
