MSgt David E. Shoemake, Sr., USAF retired, age 73, of Saucier passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr. Shoemake served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war. After he retired from the Air Force, he worked as a photographer and a camera repair man. He was a member of the VFW and Elks Lodge.
Mr. Shoemake was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Shoemake; his parents, James and Naomi Shoemake; his brother Barry Eugene Shoemake; his sister, Annie Clarice Pitts; his grandson, Preston Shoemake; his daughter, Brenda Jo Shoemake; and his sister Lois Hurst .
Survivors include his children: Michael Edward Shoemake and wife Jackie of Navarre, FL; David Shoemake, Jr. and his wife Diane, of Gulfport; Jeffrey Allen Shoemake and his wife Julie, of Texas; and Lisa Rice Shoemake of Saucier; his siblings: James B. Shoemake, Jr.; James A. Shoemake; Robert Shoemake; Rosco E. Shoemake; and Norma Jean Walley; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Funeral services will be Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
