David Anthony Seymour age 62, of the St. Martin Community in Biloxi, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Gulfport.
He was native of Ocean Springs and a graduate of St. Martin High School in 1976. David studied under the tutelage of master carpenter, Dennis Seymour, his father; and master carpenter, Raymond Seymour, Sr., his uncle. He became one of the premier builders of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, with works to include several homes and businesses for the Mavar Family of Biloxi. As a master carpenter he built homes that echoed the high quality craftsmanship he is known for. The integrity and pride in his workmanship is evident in every project David was a part of.
Along the way, he made lifelong friends, raised a family and enjoyed this place he called home. As a coach for the little league and Babe Ruth baseball leagues, he passed down the love of the sport to many coastal youth. Water sports, hunting and fishing were hobbies he enjoyed for many years with his family and friends. He was also a country music fan. David was devoted to his family and his work at Biloxi Freezing and Processing, Inc., but mostly, he loved just hanging out with his family.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Regina and Frank Seymour; his maternal grandparents, Nora and Edia Longon; his father, Dennis Seymour; and one sister, Kathi Seymour.
He is survived by his mother, Joyleen Seymour; his children, Mark Seymour (fiancé Hillary), Alicia Vierling (David), and Grant Seymour; his siblings, Dennis Seymour (Peggy), Darrell Seymour (Heather), and Dale Seymour; grandchildren Manuel and Brie Seymour, Cody and Makayla Vierling; his special friend, Janis Baldwin along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.
The entire Seymour family would like to personally thank The Mavar Family and St. Joseph Hospice for the heartfelt care, compassion and generous grace given to our loved one and our entire family during our time of need.
A gathering of family and friends to visit with each other and share memories of David's life will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, at the corner of Washington Ave. in West Jackson County.
