David Scott Lothers, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2023, at the age of 62. Born on January 6, 1961, in Encino, CA, David's life was filled with passion, artistry, and an unwavering dedication to helping others.
David was known for his free spirit and vibrant personality. Throughout his life, he explored various artistic endeavors that allowed him to express himself fully. From an early age, he discovered his love for performing and took part in numerous high school and college theater productions. His talent took him even further as he joined a choir that traveled to Europe, where his soulful voice captivated audiences.
In his twenties and thirties, David developed a deep passion for ballroom dancing. His talent and commitment led him to work with Arthur Murray dance studios. This opportunity allowed him to combine his love for dance with his adventurous spirit as he traveled the world aboard cruise ships. It was during this time that David formed lasting friendships with many of his clients.
Beyond his artistic pursuits and travels, David possessed an intrinsic desire to help those around him. He would go out of his way to lift up friends and acquaintances who were facing difficulties, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. He was a beacon of compassion and kindness in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
David's desire to make a difference did not waver even in the face of illness. Before succumbing to his ailment, he confided in his mother about wanting to find a way to help people if given the chance. This selflessness embodied who David truly was—a caring individual who sought to leave a positive impact on the world.
He is survived by his loving mother Martha (nee Emery) Lothers, as well as his brothers Bradley (Lesley) Lothers and Douglas Lothers; his niece Michelle and a nephew Chris. Although his father, Robert Lothers, preceded him in death, David's memory will forever be cherished by his entire family.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate David Scott Lothers' life will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 2755 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Thomas Clark officiating.
David Scott Lothers' departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered as a talented entertainer, a devoted friend, and a compassionate soul. May his spirit continue to inspire us to embrace our passions fully and extend kindness to one another.
